What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy approach that is based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA helps us understand how the behavior works, the affect of the environment on behavior, and what the individual is getting out of the behavior. The focus of ABA is using reinforcement to increase behaviors that are helpful to an individual learner and decrease those behaviors that are harmful or impact their capacity for learning.
What ABA does not do is change or convert individuals based on another person’s desires. The goals that are implemented are determined by the BCBA and the caregivers that support an overall goal. ABA teaches the skills, increases the behaviors that meet the overall goal while decreasing behaviors that hinder the goal.
INGENIA Behavioral Health
Welcome,
Ingenia Behavioral Health opened in July 2017 with two BCBAs and a clinic. Our goal was to provide quality care to the learners in our charge with staff that had a genuine care for the learners that they worked with. While we adjust our approach to changing environments, we remain true to our vision of one learner, one table, one therapist to provide effective therapy without our learners becoming overly stimulated. We will use the evidence based practices that are available to increase skills and the socially appropriate behaviors while reducing the challenging behaviors. We work with extremely challenging behavior in all age groups. Our collaborative effort begins in a clinic setting, followed by community and/or home environments with the individual and family that culminates in increasing quality of life. Six years later we have seven BCBAs, two BCaBAs, and twelve RBTs in two clinics striving to provide quality care to the learners that you entrust to us while staying true to our vision. Thank you for choosing us to work with your loved ones.

Our Clinics
Our clinics have an assortment of rooms that serve multiple purposes for the learners. From skill development to peer-to-peer interaction, each room in the clinic serves a task and purpose. These rooms consist of:
-
Social rooms where children can interact with their peers and learn important skills such as sportsmanship and cooperation
-
A dining room that simulates the home or school environment where children can work on eating goals and interact with their peers
-
Treatment rooms where our skilled team works on 1:1 treatments with individual children
